The Coopérative Centre francophone de Thunder Bay is one of 12 organizations to benefit from the latest round of the « Northern Multiplier Effect » funding program

Thunder Bay, January 19, 2022 – The Coopérative Centre francophone de Thunder Bay is proud to announce that it is the recipient of a $25,000 grant from the Assemblée de la francophonie de l’Ontario (AFO) « Effet multiplicateur Nord » program. This grant will enable the organization to pay for professional fees and staff salaries related to the project.

The Northern Multiplier program is part of the Economic Development Initiative (EDI) of the Federal Economic Development Agency for Northern Ontario (FedNor). This new program administered by the AFO awards amounts ranging from $5,000 to $25,000 in total. Contributions are normally made over a period of up to 18 months to support the analysis, launch, and operations of new projects and innovative programs.

This grant will allow the Coopérative Centre francophone de Thunder Bay Inc. to have a resource person to help French-speaking people in Thunder Bay develop activities in French. This project will help build the community capacity of Francophones in Thunder Bay by providing support to individuals and small community organizations to implement activities and projects aimed at engaging the Francophone community.

The 12 recipient organizations of the last round of the « Northern Multiplier Effect » funding program were unveiled on December 08, 2021 in a press release that you can find on the official AFO website: www.monassemblee.ca.

We are grateful to the AFO and the Government of Ontario for encouraging this financial support to ensure continued access to French language services in Ontario.
