The Coopérative Centre francophone de Thunder Bay receives the Small Co-op of the Year Award.

Thunder Bay, June 17, 2021 – It is with great pride that La Coopérative Centre francophone de Thunder Bay announces that it is the recipient of the Small Cooperative of the Year Award. This distinction recognizes the immense work accomplished by the center and its members since its creation in 2000.

Each year, this award is presented by Cooperatives and Mutuals Canada in recognition of the leadership, investment, and passion of cooperatives, mutuals, and their change agents.

Nominated by the Conseil de la coopération de l’Ontario, the Coopérative Centre francophone de Thunder Bay has distinguished itself through its innovative dynamism, the scope of its services, and programs, and its impact on the Thunder Bay Francophone community. The Centre francophone offers services in health, literacy, learning, language advocacy, assistance to abused women, and services for seniors. In addition, the Center offers rental space for educational, cultural, and social activities for the community.

The award was presented virtually on Thursday, June 17, 2021, by André Landry, CMC’s General Manager.

The Coopérative Centre francophone de Thunder Bay, incorporated in 2000, brings together seven Francophone organizations. With a building in Thunder Bay, it facilitates access to services and programs in French and contributes to the development of social, cultural, educational, and socio-economic activities of its members and partners.
